OVERVIEW: The role of the Regulatory Compliance Specialist is to add value and improve operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, governance processes, in the Regulatory and Health Safety & Environmental arenas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With the support of the Director of OPEX ensure teams are focused on the improvement and advancement of their respective areas and its operating functions to meet the strategic objective set forth for the following areas:
· Develops and implements health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations as they apply to the organizations operations, including but not limited to: OSHA, ISO 9001 EPA, FDA, TTB and DOT.
· Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices.
· Perform Regulatory reviews of products, intermediates, raw materials, and end-use applications.
· Perform full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
· Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative measure where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
· Maintain environmental reports and reporting including Storm water permits, SPCC, TCEQ, EPA, TTB, etc
· Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
· Conduct follow up audits to monitor corrections and continued compliance.
· Investigate, document, analyze and provide resolution for any regulatory compliance concerns that arise
· Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
Ability to provide expert advice and resources to company management, stakeholders, and employee.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
· Associates degree in related field
· At least 2 years’ experience in Regulatory and/or HSE
· Knowledge and experience in a major area of Government Regulatory compliance (USA e.g., FDA, OSHA, EPA, TSCA).
· Knowledge of USA, Canada, and Europe Regulatory Environment, Health and Safety laws.
