Senior Specialist Operational Trade Compliance EMEA (m/f/d) - Hybrid Option GER

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Dual-use products, chemical weapons conventions, explosive precursor regulations – everyone is talking about these challenges in global trade. With us, you're right in the middle of it. You manage licenses for regulated goods across Europe, primarily in Germany. Collaborating with the specialist unit, you ensure compliance with all European and German trade control regulations. Additionally, you implement legal requirements within BASF's SAP operational processes.

• In this role you ensure compliance with legal regulations to support the continuity of operational tasks in trade control.
• You are responsible for evaluating SAP orders to confirm that all legal requirements and BASF standards are met.
• Apart from that you prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities for regulated goods within the EMEA region (e.g., Dual Use, CWC).
• You conduct standard system user tests on various SAP platforms to ensure functionality.
• Furthermore you assist with internal and external audits to verify compliance and operational efficiency.
• You support the monitoring of service quality based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive the continuous improvement of established processes.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• vocational training or bachelor's degree in a scientific field (chemistry, engineering, biology) or in customs and trade
• professional experience in trade compliance, export controls or regulatory affairs
• familiar with standard IT applications and a sound knowledge of SAP R/3 and SAP S4 HANA
• strong communication skills in English, German is plus
