Job Summary
Job Description
- Ensures that the required ambulance information is accurately entered in the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (BEMS) Information Management System.
- Conducts annual inspection of the EMS Provider to ensure proper compliance.
- Inspects and audits ambulances monthly and routinely as needed.
- Implements mechanisms to ensure ambulances approved by regulatory processes are approved electronically during the ambulance placarding process.
- Responds during emergency/disaster events and conducts ambulance placarding in a professional manner at the site to credential ambulances and personnel during a disaster.
- Provides written reports to the Director of the Bureau of EMS after emergency/disaster events identifying the number of ambulances placarded and the names of the agencies with placarded ambulances.
- Attends Preparedness and Response and ESF8 meetings as requested and provides written reports regarding meetings.
- Investigates and processes complaints and infractions against EMS Practitioners and EMS Providers.
- Reports the findings of investigations of EMS Practitioners and Providers to the EMS Commission and Director of the Bureau of EMS.
- Facilitates special education programs/events that are conducted by the Bureau of EMS and provides written reports to the Director of the Bureau of EMS after the events.
- Assists other Bureau of EMS staff in projects that require additional personnel.
- Represent the Bureau of EMS on NASEMSO’s Community Paramedicine – Integrated Health and Rural EMS Committee.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
- Minimum 4 years professional experience in Emergency Medical Services or regulatory fields.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
- Great attention to detail and follow up.
- Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
DESIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, healthcare administration, business administration, or relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in Emergency Medical Services or regulatory fields.
- Minimum 4 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
- Certified National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic.
- Additional relevant industry certifications or training.
