JOB SUMMARY
The Compliance Site Administrator ensures that facility operations comply with applicable cannabis regulations, state and local ordinances, and internal company policies. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance documentation, conducting site audits, supporting regulatory filings, assisting with training efforts, and fostering a strong compliance culture. In addition to managing the site's compliance program, this individual collaborates with cross-functional teams across multiple states to support enterprise-wide consistency in regulatory adherence, operational excellence, and risk mitigation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable cannabis regulations and internal SOPs at the facility level.
- Monitor site activities and proactively identify and escalate compliance risks or regulatory concerns.
- Provide daily compliance oversight in the execution of internal audits, inspections, and readiness assessments; document findings and support remediation activities.
- Maintain required documentation for licenses, inspections, training records, regulatory filings, and SOPs.
- Support regulatory submissions such as product registrations, reporting obligations, and incident notifications.
- Serve as the lead compliance contact at the facility and guide team members on policy interpretation and adherence
- Deliver and support ongoing compliance training programs for site personnel.
- Act as the on-site liaison for regulatory inspections and correspondence with local or state agencies.
- Coordinate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) stemming from audit findings or incidents.
- Ensure METRC, Dutchie, or other state traceability system data is accurate, current, and in alignment with physical inventory.
- Partner with operations, security, quality assurance, and HR to drive alignment between departments and ensure compliance is embedded in all activities.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in enterprise-wide compliance initiatives and standardization efforts.
- Assist with the development and revision of SOPs and internal controls.
- Stay informed of changes in regulatory and industry landscapes and communicate relevant updates to site leadership.
- Support investigations into non-conformances or compliance breaches, including root cause analysis and documentation.
- Prepare compliance-related reports and dashboards for leadership or external auditors.
- Collaborate with regional or corporate compliance personnel to ensure multi-state consistency.
- Provide remote support and contribute to compliance training or projects across other facilities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals of the compliance department and overall business.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, auditing, or similar role; cannabis industry experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of state cannabis regulations (e.g., MRA, CCC, IDFPR).
- Familiarity with cannabis traceability systems such as METRC and point-of-sale/inventory platforms like Dutchie.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and administrative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations accurately.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a state-issued cannabis agent/employee badge.
- Must pass pre-employment background checks
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Regulatory Affairs, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in a regulated industry (cannabis, pharmaceutical, healthcare, food manufacturing).
- Prior experience supporting regulatory audits or inspections.
- Knowledge of internal control systems, risk assessment practices, or quality assurance.
- Experience with SOP writing and training program development.
- Familiarity with multi-state compliance management.
