Job Summary:

 

Privacy Compliance Manager – North America - Reporting to the Global Privacy Officer of Allegis Group, Inc. this role will support the Global Privacy Office and work closely with the Global Privacy Officer. The Global Privacy Office is part of the Allegis Group Legal Department.

All candidates must be eager to learn and demonstrate energy and a need for achievement.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of privacy specialists and overseeing and ensuring compliance with US and Canadian privacy laws. The role will also be responsible for managing data protection and privacy issues, developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures, and ensuring that all business practices comply with relevant privacy regulations









Responsibilities






Essential Functions:

  • Supervise the Global Senior Privacy Specialist, Privacy Specialist and the Privacy Operations Associate.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain privacy notices, policies and procedures in compliance with US and Canadian privacy laws, including but not limited to CCPA, HIPAA, and PIPEDA.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new and emerging North American privacy laws and regulations on the company's operations.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments, where required by North American data protection law, to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to various departments on North American privacy-related matters, including, for example, Legal, Marketing, IS, and HR.
  • Collaborate with the legal team and commercial contract teams to ensure that all contracts and agreements templates in use comply with North American privacy laws and regulations and act as an escalation point for complex questions regarding data protection related negotiations.
  • Coordinate with the Privacy Operations Associate regarding programming of privacy related software tools for compliance with North American data protection laws.
  • Act as an escalation point for questions regarding North American data protection law from the OpCo Privacy Analysts.
  • Drive implementation of privacy strategy (including any appropriate training) to the OpCo Privacy Analysts regarding North American data protection requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Privacy Leads for EMEA and APAC to ensure data protection programs are consistent on a global basis where appropriate and regionally focused where appropriate under the strategic guidance of the Global Privacy Officer.
  • Lead privacy training and awareness programs as needed to supplement mandatory privacy and security training programs to ensure a strong privacy culture within the organization.
  • Review and approve any mandatory employee privacy training prior to distribution to employees through the Company’s learning management platform.
  • Stay abreast of emerging privacy and data protection trends and technologies to inform the above responsibilities.

Supervisory or Management Responsibility:

  • This role will be responsible for supervising and managing the Global Senior Privacy Specialist, Privacy Specialist and the Privacy Operations Associate.








Qualifications






Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in privacy compliance/data protection.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/C, or CIPM are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of North American privacy regulations and best practices, including CASL, PIPEDA, CCPA and other US privacy laws, and other relevant laws.
  • Experience with privacy management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and to translate complex privacy concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs on privacy compliance.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in privacy
  • Experience in and the ability to perform the work in the areas identified below are critical.
  • Eagerness to jump in and develop business practical solutions to complex privacy and data protection challenges;
  • General knowledge of risk management concepts;
  • Experience with or exposure to North American as well as some exposure to global data protection regimes and compliance requirements or a demonstrated ability to learn such areas quickly;

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business processes;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to ramp-up quickly in new environments and teams;
  • Ability to adapt to conflicting ad hoc deadlines and priorities and deadline demands by controlling the daily management of multiple simultaneous workload requests;
  • Willingness to pursue appropriate additional privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP-US, CIPP-C and CIPM);
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to customize messages for a variety of internal and external audiences, including senior level leadership. Candidate must be able to correspond in a professional manner with business personnel and customers; and
  • Self-directed individual with the ability to learn quickly and work as a team player with a broad range of internal stakeholders across multiple departments, multiple Operating Companies and multiple jurisdictions around the world

Salary Range
  • $112,800-$169,200
  • The position is bonus eligible

Office Requirements:
