The Compliance Associate- Research assists with the implementation, continued operation, and maintenance of the research compliance program. The components the program include oversight of the organization’s compliance work-plan, Code of Conduct, reporting mechanisms, oversight and management of processes and systems, key policies and procedures, compliance education, and investigations that impact research.

Responsibilities






  • Assists with the maintenance, monitoring, education & enforcement of the research policies, guidelines.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and communication of policies and procedures, changes to policy, regulations, and guidelines, and participates in development and presentation of educational materials for key topics.
  • Assists with maintaining channels for reporting compliance concerns, conducting investigations, and monitoring for follow up and recommendations. Analyzes compliance concerns, questions, complaints from internal customers. Assists Director and key staff with resolution of more complex inquiries.
  • Serves on and or advises on key committees throughout organization in need of research compliance oversight, provides guidance on potential research compliance concerns, and serves as a liaison to depts with compliance related responsibilities. Establishes and maintains working relationships with key individuals and depts.
  • Develops working knowledge of research compliance aspects and attends appropriate educational opportunities to maintain knowledge of relevant research compliance topics. Monitors and reviews change to regulations, statutes, and governmental guidance for potential impact to organization.
  • Assists in maintenance of institutional oversight of data, controlled substance, research security, research misconduct, authorship, grant management to ensure education, and appropriate controls are in place.
  • Works with the overall Office of Compliance & Integrity to support the effective and efficient operation of conflict management during the conduct of research including review of disclosures, investigating, and reviewing conflict concerns, and monitoring conflict management plans as needed.

Qualifications






Education 

  • Bachelors in Science, Masters, or Ph.D. in biomedical or healthcare sciences

Experience 

  • Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records, Internal Classification of Diseases (ICD 10), HCPCS, CPT coding principles and guidelines, preferred.  

Skills 

Certification

  • Healthcare compliance certification, preferred.
