Job Title: Accredited Business Compliance Specialist 
Department: Operations 
Reports To: Standards and Compliance Manager 
Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week) 
Salary: $17–$20/hour ($35,360–$41,600 annually), based on experience 



Position Summary 

 

The role of the Accredited Business Compliance Specialist is to ensure that a business meets UMAP and MABMP as outlined by the International Association of Better Business Bureaus (IABBB) and once approved, continues to meet the Code of Business Practices (MABMP).  This position involves the cultivation and maintenance of positive relationships with Accredited Businesses. It also serves as a liaison between the business and licensing agencies (if applicable) to ensure compliance.   
 



 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Follow established procedures to process new applications and complete Code of Business Practices checklist reviews within deadlines. 
  • Communicate with prospective Accredited Businesses by phone and email throughout the vetting process. 
  • Reach out to current Accredited Businesses that are out of compliance and assist them in resolving any issue(s). 
  • Update and maintain
    accurate information on BBB Business Profiles.
     
  • Attend vetting department meetings and other internal meetings as scheduled. 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal policy guidelines to ensure consistency and quality. 
  • Ensure accountability, meet productivity goals, and complete tasks within required timelines. 
  • Perform periodic checklist reviews for existing Accredited Businesses. 
  • Take on additional duties and cross-functional projects as assigned.
