The Senior Manager, Compliance will provide support in the development of Specialty Insurance programs, including both Admitted P&C lines and Surplus Lines offerings. Responsibilities include research of state insurance laws, compliance reviews of existing programs, administrators, agents and brokers, and assisting Underwriters with state-specific program compliance. The role requires a detail-oriented, efficient individual to help with the growing Specialty Insurance programs, specifically to ensure compliance and avoid DOI objections and issues of non-compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4-10 years of experience in insurance compliance, particularly with commercial and personal lines.
- Surplus Lines experience preferred.
- Completion of Professional Designation is a plus i.e, CPCU, ACP, ARC &/or AINS.
- Experience in broad team oversight.
Primary Job Functions:
- Develop forms and review prospective and existing specialty lines programs for compliance.
- Submission of forms and rate filings with State Insurance Departments, provide prompt responses to DOI objections and inquires.
- Monitor state insurance department bulletins for regulatory changes and updates; communicate such changes to underwriting teams, administrators, agents and brokers.
- Interpret and apply information from state insurance statutes and provide guidance to underwriters, licensing and other teams.
- Responsible for the coordination, preparation and distribution of bulletin notifications as required.
- Assist the compliance team to ensure completion of projects within the projected target dates.
- Assist and manage internal audits to ensure compliance throughout the product onboarding and sales process.
- Special projects as assigned by EVP, VP, &/or Director of Compliance.
