Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with TCEQ, EPA, and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit required reports, permits, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Monitor changes in environmental and regulatory laws and update department practices accordingly.
- Maintain records for inspections, testing, sampling, and operational logs as required by law.
- Conduct internal audits and site inspections to verify compliance.
Disaster Preparedness & Recovery
- Serve as the lead for documenting Public Works activities before, during, and after emergencies.
- Coordinate with emergency management and finance staff on FEMA reimbursement processes.
- Ensure proper documentation for post-disaster recovery reporting and grant compliance.
- Maintain readiness of compliance records and supporting documentation for audits and claims.
Project & Permit Oversight
- Assist in the permitting process for construction, environmental, and utility projects.
- Track permit status and ensure compliance with permit terms and deadlines.
- Support engineering and operations teams with technical documentation and submittals.
- Training & Program Development
- Develop and deliver training for staff on compliance procedures and regulations.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for compliance-related functions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety, environmental, and compliance programs.

- Thorough knowledge of TCEQ, EPA, and FEMA regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate into actionable procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance tracking software.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments and agencies.
