Want to make a difference by safeguarding the integrity of vital community programs here in East Texas? In this position, you will lead detailed investigations, conduct on-site reviews, analyze records and data for red flags, and work closely with providers, contractors, and partner agencies to ensure decisions are grounded in verified facts. Your work will directly support safe, accountable Child Care and Workforce systems by identifying non-compliance, preventing improper payments, and ensuring consistent, fair treatment for all participants.
From developing fraud prevention materials and helping providers understand program requirements to supporting corrective actions, refining monitoring tools, and strengthening policies and procedures, your efforts will help reduce risk and improve day-to-day operations. This is an ideal role for someone who is analytical, collaborative, and committed to public service who can also balance professionalism and fairness while safeguarding the systems that matter most to East Texas families and communities.
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or a related field of study strongly preferred. Minimum five years of related experience working with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) policies, Child Care eligibility regulations, Child Care subsidy or public benefit programs required; experience with inspections, investigative compliance, fraud detection, auditing, program integrity and administrative hearings is strongly preferred; equivalent combinations of education and professional experience will be considered.
East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties, cities, school districts and special districts within the fourteen-county East Texas region. We assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit and coordinating for sound regional development. Either directly, or through our contractors, ETCOG provides programs and services for East Texas seniors, employers and job seekers. We also build the 9-1-1 emergency call delivery system, provide peace officer training and homeland security planning services; and deliver rural transportation services, business finance programs, grant writing services and environmental grant funding for the region.
