Position Profile


Weaver is seeking talented professionals to join our growing Energy Compliance Services (ECS) team. Weaver’s ECS practice is dedicated to helping businesses navigate compliance with evolving regulations, including regulations governed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Environment and Climate Change Canada, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, California Air Resources Board, as well as other various states and provinces. Many of the environmental programs we focus on within our ECS practice are rooted in managing the human impact on the environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing sustainability. We have substantial expertise and experience with transportation fuel regulations, including renewable fuels. We need talented professionals to develop Lifecycle Analyses required for specific clean energy programs and new allowances under the Inflation Reduction Act.


This ECS Associate will be on the Technical Emissions team, within the ECS practice. They will perform preparer responsibilities on Lifecycle Analysis modeling and consulting engagements.  They additionally focus on compliance aspects outlined under the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”), the U.S Department of Energy (“DOE”), and the U.S Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”), and various voluntary programs as requested by our clients.


The scope of subject matter includes the production of clean fuel or products, emissions modeling and accounting, and production of fuels or their inputs and components, (e.g., Clean Hydrogen). The regulations that the ECS practice deals with require backgrounds and experience in the areas of environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, accounting, and legal.


To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or related space

  • 0 - 2+ years’ experience in greenhouse gas emissions programs and are familiar in ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, etc.

  • Basic understanding of greenhouse gas modelling and reporting with multiple approaches

  • Familiarity with Argonne GREET model, GHGenius, CA-GREET, WA-GREET, or other LCA modeling software(s)

  • Strong computer skills

  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with other professionals to advance projects and ideas

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines

  • Basic understanding of technical laws and regulations related to the ECS practice


Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:



  • Professional License - Such as Engineering-in-Training (passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam)
