The Compliance Specialist supports the Bank’s Compliance Management Program through compliance monitoring, data analysis, policy and procedure review, training support, regulatory change management, risk assessment activities, reporting, and special projects. The role supports consumer, deposit, lending, privacy, marketing, electronic banking, fair lending, CRA, HMDA, and other applicable regulatory areas. This position helps research, analyze, document, and communicate compliance requirements; supports compliance reviews and corrective action follow-up; and works with Compliance Management and business units to promote effective compliance controls. This position requires working with Bank and customer confidential information on a daily basis.

A stable work history establishing experience with understanding federal and state compliance regulations, understanding risk assessments, data analysis, and working with confidential information is required.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of banking, finance, lending, or similar experience.
  • Good interpersonal communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Ability to research, analyze data, and apply policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and written guidance.
  • 2-4 years of bank compliance, risk management, or audit experience. 
  • Experience with consumer compliance regulations, including deposit, lending, fair lending, privacy, marketing, electronic banking, CRA, and HMDA.
  • Experience with testing, monitoring, data analysis, risk assessments, audit support, regulatory change, policies/procedures, training, and reporting.

 Specific Job Functions:

  • Supports the Bank’s Compliance Management Program across consumer, deposit, lending, privacy, marketing, electronic banking, fair lending, CRA, HMDA, and other regulatory areas.
  • Assists with compliance monitoring and testing, including documentation review, results tracking, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Supports compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including ECOA/Reg B, HMDA/Reg C, Reg CC, Reg D, TISA/Reg DD, EFTA/Reg E, RESPA/Reg X, TILA/Reg Z, CRA, Fair Lending, FCRA, UDAAP, privacy, advertising, E-SIGN, Flood, SAFE Act, MLA, SCRA, FDCPA, RFPA, Reg O, Reg GG, and related requirements.
  • Assists with HMDA and CRA data collection, data integrity review, LAR preparation and submission, reporting support, and related documentation.
  • Supports compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments, training materials, job aids, reports, and other program documentation.
  • Supports compliance training by helping identify needs, prepare materials, track completion, and provide practical compliance information.
  • Provides compliance assistance to lending, deposit operations, branches, marketing, operations, and other departments.
  • Assists with audits, examinations, compliance reviews, and internal or external information requests.
  • Completes tasks correctly and on time to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Researches, monitors, and communicates regulatory changes, emerging compliance issues, industry best practices, and administrative procedures.
  • Supports special projects by gathering and analyzing data and preparing assigned reports.
  • Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned, including proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheets, and email programs.
  • Works with Bank and customer confidential information while performing the essential duties enumerated above.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Complies with all BSA and anti-money laundering / terrorist financing requirements, policies, procedures and processes.
  • Assists Compliance Management in any project as assigned.

Employee is required to maintain a valid driver’s license and provide own reliable transportation. This position requires travel within a 100-mile radius and occasional training-related travel.
